Back in the early seventies I began a life as a single parent of four children. At that time my two oldest boys were in the third and second grade. My daughter was a year and a half, and my baby boy was just a few months old. We had been an up and coming family in our small town. We participated in the PTA, The Community Chest, and many other functions. My husband worked in his family's business, a business that had been in existence for 25 years.  After the birth of my youngest son, we purchased a new home. We had two new cars in the driveway, the swing set in the back yard, the sand box under the tree, and everyone seemed to be settling into our new surroundings. Then my world was turned upside down. My husband decided he wanted a divorce. It all came as a total surprise. I thought things were going well. I guess as I have gotten older, and looked back, there were signs. But I was young and very devoted to my children. Perhaps I ignored what should have been the writing on the wall.

At any rate I was then left with four children and $110 a week in child support. How was I going to work? I started married life and motherhood at the age of 18. I had no formal training. How was I going to make enough money to pay daycare for the 2 youngest, and part-time care for the two oldest boys, and have anything left? It was a hopeless situation. I worked what odd jobs I could, but it was a constant struggle. There were times when our electricity was shutoff because I couldn't pay the bill. My children and I roasted hot dogs in the fireplace so that they could have a hot meal. A few months later my car was repossessed. Then eventually we lost our home as well. That summer my children and I moved into a trailer park in a neighboring town.

It was while living in this trailer park that we became friends with an elderly man next door named Elmer. Elmer would often accompany us on trips to the grocery store, and we would often invite him over for dinner. It was after dinner on one of these nights, that Elmer shared something with me. I had noticed that he would often purchase lottery tickets on our trips to the store. I had asked him a time or two if he was actually able to win money playing it. He claimed that he did, but that was all he ever had to say about it. Well this night he revealed to me that he did indeed have a method of playing that was producing winners for him. I began to track his method on paper to see if he really was onto something, or if it was just wishful thinking. I was amazed to see that he was winning about once a week. It was hard to see my kids friends being dropped off at school in new cars, when we didn't even know if our car was going to start. Times were very tough for us. But I thank God every day that I was open minded enough to see a good thing, and take advantage of it. My children are all grown and raising families of their own. Today I am blessed with six grandchildren and another on the way. One of my sons graduated law school, my daughter graduated college, and two of my sons are working in businesses that I was able to help them start.

I had often been told by friends and family that I should market my system. I never took that seriously at all. But I am retired now. I am very active in my children's lives but I do have allot of time to myself since they don't need ole Mom around all of the time. So I have sort of undertaken this venture as a hobby.
